Abstract: 

The boundary Control of nonlinear parabolic equation with an integral performance criterion and a fixed final state is considered. By means of a well-known process of embedding (used by Rubio and others) for finite-dimensional system, this problem is replaced by one in which a linear form is minimized over a set of pairs of positive radon measures satisfying linear constraints. The Optimal pair measures are then approximated by a finite combination of atomic measures and the problem converted to a finite-dimensional linear programming problem. The solution of this problem is used to construct a piecewise constant Optimal Control.The Advantages of this formulation are:(i) There is automatic existence theory.(ii) There exists the possibility of using linear functional analysis to developed the theory.(iii) The minimization is global.A numerical example is considered to illustrate the procedure.

Abstract: 

Each dynamic job shop can be represented as a network of queues, in which each service station indicates a machine or a production department. Now, assume that the service rates of these service stations can be Controlled. In this paper, a new model is developed for bicriteria Optimal Control of service rates of all service stations in a class of Jackson networks, in which the expected value of the shortest path of the network and, also, the total operating costs of all service stations of the network, per period, are minimized. The expected value of the shortest path of such a network of queues is equal to the expected value of the time that the first product is completed.This is an important factor in production systems, because, related to design and manufacture of a new product, the first manufactured product often has the maximum flow time, in effect, which can be minimized through the model. The networks of queues analyzed in this paper, have all the specifications of Jackson networks, except for not containing M/M /C queueing systems.

Abstract: 

A Control algorithm based on the instantaneous Optimal Control method is presented for on-line Control of structures subjected to earthquake excitations. This algorithm employs the digital state-space equation to discretize the continuous dynamical equation of motion, and named discrete instantaneous Optimal Control method. Based on the Lyapunov stability method, a procedure to obtain a discrete stable weighting matrix is developed. To demonstrate the precision and the efficiency of the proposed Control algorithm an 8-story shear-type building frame equipped with one active mass damper/driver (AMD) mechanism is used. Behavior of different weighting matrices is also examined.

Abstract: 

Many countries like Iran are looking to solve the serious problems caused by inflation. In this research, the authors are to present a way for Controlling the inflation during 5th development plan during 2008-2016 in Iran by using Optimal Control theory and Time Series data of Central Bank during 1998-2007. The interest rate reaction function will be derived and the central bank loss function subject minimized to exchange rate deviation, inflation as well as production behavior. The results indicate that the monetary authorities should increase the interest rate to reduce the liquidity as the cost of financing investments in the production sector. It leads to the Control of the inflation directing to the value targeted.

Abstract: 

The main goal of this study is to provide a model for Optimal allocation of provincial budget resources with attention to provinces priorities and with the aim of financial and county spatial decentralization and also social welfare maximization. For this purpose, we design an Optimal Control problem and then, we calculate long run equilibrium of this model with focusing of macroeconomic indicators include the mortality rate, unemployment rate, GINI coefficient, literacy rate, economic participation rate, the province proportion of domestic production and the province proportion of industrial, services and agricultural value added and weighted index of educational and health facilities. Also the short run dynamics of Optimal solution has analyzed. Based on the results and according to the long run equilibrium of the Optimal Control model, if budget planer gives equal importance to these indicators, the higher budgets proportion will allocate to less developed provinces that it is contradict to current method of provincial budgeting in Iran. The results also show that any change in budget planner priority change long run equilibrium of the Optimal Control problem and composition of Optimal provincial budget allocation.

Abstract: 

Increase in government spending can lead to increase in production, supply of public goods and services as well as utility. However, it should be noted that increasing the role of government in the economy will cause crowding out of the private sector and this will reduce the utility.The present study is looking for Iran's Optimal growth rate of government's spending using time series data in the years 1978-2014. via a dynamic Optimal Control theory approach and the maximum principle.The results show that, the Optimal growth rate of government’s expenditure is 7% and the main factors affecting this rate is the ratio of private and public sector investment. Therefore, the current growth rate of government’s spending is not Optimal and the government needs to Control the growth rate of spending especially current expenditure.

Abstract: 

In this paper, we will study the  Optimal Control problem of a system containing a differential integral (D-I) operator. We will deduce the necessary Optimality conditions and apply it first to the problem of minimum energy to find the lowest energy for an electrical circuit containing a resistor, a coil and a capacitor (RLC circuit), and second to the problem of the minimum time to transfer electrical current in  RLC circuit from one state to another in the shortest possible time.

Abstract: 

This paper concerns a study on the Optimal Control for nonlinear systems. An appropriate alternative in order to alleviate the nonlinearity of a system is the exact linearization approach. In this fashion, the nonlinear system has been linearized using input-output feedback linearization (IOFL). Then, by utilizing the well developed Optimal Control theory of linear systems, the compensated nonlinear system has been Controlled. Thus, the structure of the objective function will be converted into a quadratic form which is qualitativly comparable with usual cost functions, and from operating viewpoint is more favorable. To qualify such a procedure, it has been applied to two minimum and nonminimum-phase chemical processes, and its performance is verified through computer simulations.

Abstract: 

IN THIS PAPER, A DIRECT SPECTRAL COLLOCATION METHOD USING B-SPLINE FUNCTIONS IS PRESENTED TO APPROXIMATE THE SOLUTIONS OF FRACTIONAL Optimal Control PROBLEMS WITH INEQUALITY CONSTRAINTS.APPLYING THESE FUNCTIONS LEADS TO SPARSE MATRICES BECAUSE THEY HAVE COMPACT SUPPORT, MOREOVER, THEY PRODUCE A PIECEWISE CONTINUOUS SOLUTION. THE METHOD IS BASED ON APPROXIMATING THE Control AND CAPUTO FRACTIONAL DERIVATIVE OF THE STATE BY B-SPLINE FUNCTIONS. THE FRACTIONAL INTEGRAL OF THESE FUNCTIONS IS COMPUTED USING RECURRENCE RELATIONS. THE EFFICIENCY OF THE METHOD HAS BEEN SHOWN USING A NUMERICAL EXAMPLE.
